About us

Nestled in the Georgetown Divide of Northern California, Georgetown Sourdough is rooted in a deep passion for traditional baking methods and the art of true sourdough.
What started as a love for baking has grown into something much more—a commitment to crafting food with intention, patience, and respect for time-honored techniques. Every loaf, every batch, every product we create is built on that foundation.
At the heart of it all is our sourdough starter, Goldie Mae.
Over 100 years old, Goldie Mae has a story of her own—passed down, cared for, and kept alive through generations before finding her home here in Georgetown. She’s more than just a starter; she’s the soul of our bakery. Every loaf we make carries a piece of that history, bringing depth of flavor and character that simply can’t be rushed or replicated.
From our starter to your table, we are committed to quality ingredients, long fermentation, and handcrafted processes that allow flavor to fully develop the way it was meant to.
As we continue to grow, we’re excited to bring new products, seasonal offerings, and expanded ways to share what we do with our community and beyond. Whether it’s at a local pop-up, a farmers market, or through pre-orders, our goal is simple:
To provide handcrafted sourdough to the Georgetown Divide—and beyond.
We believe good food brings people together, and we’re proud to be a small part of your table.
